Worship Planning
All worship services of the AU United Methodist/Protestant Community are planned by the Worship Committee. This is a group that meets weekly and crafts all aspects of the services. They plan the order of worship and choose the prayers and hymns. Besides using existing resources, members of the Worship Committee also sometimes write original prayers for the services. Anyone is welcome to contribute to the planning of the services, either by attending the meetings or emailing suggestions. This semester Worship Committee meets on Monday nights at 6 pm in Kay Basement.

Greeting
Everyone is welcome at UM/PC services, and we want everyone to feel that way. That is why we need a few students each week to volunteer as greeters to meet everyone at the door with a smile and the stuff they need for church (bulletin, hymnal, etc.) Anyone can sign up for this on the sheet in the United Methodist office in Kay Basement.

Leading Worship
In our services, the liturgist leads the congregation in worship through welcoming everyone to the service and leading them in congregational prayers. The job of liturgist is filled by different students each week. There is a section on the sign-up sheet in Kay for being liturgist, as well as a sheet detailing exactly what you need to know.

Reading Scripture
Another part of worship done by students is the reading of Scripture. Each week we need one or two people to read Scripture. The same sign-up sheet as above also has a spot to sign up for this duty.

Preaching
At our Communion and Healing Services on Thursday nights, students can volunteer to preach. This is a great opportunity to get behind the pulpit, since it is a relatively low stress situation. Also, there are sometimes services that feature multiple students speaking on the same theme. If you are interested in either of these, contact the Worship Committee or the Chaplain to sign up.

Music
The Fellowship of Sound provides music for Sunday services, and is always open to new members. They meet before worship at 5:45p on Sundays to rehearse music. Besides singing, there are also opportunities to provide instrumental music.
